Brony News
Alright ponies. I just found out that our community's fanfiction section has finally gotten a good amount of attention.
http://www.dailydot.com/culture/fallout-equestria-fim-kkat-interview/
This thread will be to post other recent 'news' on the fandom, whether it is for or by the fandom, good or bad. And the thread will also be used to discuss the news.

I actually loved this article. For the most part, it was accurate and well done. And I love seeing any part of the fandom cast in a good light. But my overall favorite part was this; the writer of FE actually isn't even involved with the hardcover project, and really isn't getting any money from this (Not that I don't mind him making money, what I mean is that he is not doing this for the money). I also love the quote at the end, stating that someone who did make money off of some work based off of the fic, sent it all to a relief fund in Japan. Dear Luna, it's things like that that make me love the fandom even more so.

Re: Brony News
Hmm, I'm guessing Season 3 is focusing on the premise of crystal ponies? Cool. Also, the animation has been improved.

Can you try to find it in English? Or at least tell us the overall things they addressed?
Re: Brony News
I'm having trouble finding the clip for the news, but here are some bronies on a Norwegian talk show (with subs)

I'm also calling bull on most of that. While it is true that our fandom is getting a little more aggressive, and slightly falling away from its origins, I believe it is just a fast of the large off season.
I'd type more on this right now. But I'm too tired to do so. I may type more later. But overall, I think our community is good for a good while.

Ya... I hope it's the bandwagoners that stop watching the show 1st tbh. Most bandwagoners just hurt our fandom anyway, as they don't actually follow the true Brony ideals.
Honestly... What the hell made them think that it was a good idea to stab one of the largest and most loyal fandoms in the back like this? And for money at that!?
Re: Brony News
Greed. The only word I can remotely think of is what they were thinking.Wolf Trainer wrote:Lordleelee2/ZardBrood wrote:..... Hasbro is gonna feel that mistake fast.

Re: Brony News
Here is something one of my IRL Brony community members said when he saw that.
---
I got into a big discussion about this on IRC actually, and had someone suggest that I was entitled because I wasn't happy to hear the Hasbro exec's reasoning.
No, I'm not entitled...I'm jaded. I've grown up seeing a lot of nasty and ruthless things happen with otherwise upstanding people justifying them by saying "hey, it's just business". Thanks to the bottom-line profit motive, I've seen a lot of people's livelihoods destroyed, but I've also seen the more subtle effects: art gets cheapened, movies are dumbed down, clever shows don't make it for long, and products are manufactured exactly as poorly as they can be while still justifying their sale price.
So when I deal with this every day, and I come to enjoy this otherwise pure and uplifting reminder of my own nicer and more content youth, it's especially painful to see that even this isn't immune to the harsh reality of the almighty dollar. It's just another thing made by humans, who are all at once capable of the most beautiful and the most terrible things. In my mind, ponies fall squarely into the "beautiful" category, and the ability for people to disconnect from their innate appreciation of beauty and enjoyment for the sake of pursuing profit falls into the "terrible" category. Here, we see what happens when the two meet, and which one ends up winning. That's what bothers me.
I don't think I "deserve" more ponies, but if there were more episodes and better toys, I'd throw money at them in a heartbeat. I've proven that for myself by doing it already. The people writing the checks, though, are just looking at the pure raw "bang for the buck" of the thing. It makes me legitimately wonder if they would take that to its logical conclusion and produce a 65-episode bundle wrapped up and packaged for syndication before promptly canning the series.
And, well, that sucks.
---
Sadly, I agree with all of what he said... And as already stated, it makes me very sad.

Re: Brony News
Ya, and tbh. Their profits will probably decrease a little bit from this. Seriously. What the hell were they thinking? I can't believe that cold hard cash would dictate such a retarded and cold hearted move like this.
This news seriously pisses me off, and saddens me to no end... What will the cash dictate next? Seriously... What will the ever decreasing dollar tell Cashbro to do next to screw over the massive fandom?

Re: Brony News
Anything for a quick easy buck? And yea, I figured they would end up losing cash in the end because of this bull**** move of theirs.

Why is Derpy at the bottom! WHY!? What sorcery has caused this!? How is she losing to "Other" I don't even think there's a pony named other, who is this "Other" you speak of!? This poll is rigged, Derpy should obviously win!

(Necro for a good reason)
Guess what I found bronies! Something that, sadly, only benefits people with Cable... And live in the US, BUT a certain bronies Documentary is gonna be aired in the US sometime this fall, free, and can be streamed for free as well.
