Promotion and Advertisement of Brony Haven

Dear fellow Bronies of BH, the time has come to finally debate over a withheld option of concern. Which is the Advertisement of our site..

Discussed before, we have not came up with a solid solution. Now is the time that we will officially debate on whether we, as a community, decide whether or not to advertise our site to attain new members.

The guidelines for this thread will be as is: To discuss methods of advertisement, and to voice the opinions of those within our community. All that have an opinion may voice it.

Some methods already thought of are as follows:

1. Personal Invitation ~ Where one of the members already in the community takes the time to evaluate a possible member, and gives them a link privately. (Be it IRL or OL)

2. Google Link ~ Using the Google Search engine, which we are already listed on, but very hard to find. This doesn't seem to be very efficient but already is up as an active method.

3. Closed Link invitations through a forum on Kong ~ There will be a thread created specifically for certain prospecting members. Their will NOT be a open link in the thread, and will rather be a "PM only" invitation for interested persons. All invitations will be *evaluated through 2 or more respective members. This can also apply to other forum sites. (*To make sure no "Trash" comes into the community)

4. Remain as is/Isolation ~ As the description says, if you wish to keep BH isolated, then this is also a method, but please explain why.

Again, everyone can have their say and can voice their own methods. Please debate this topic with respect for others opinions, the overall effectiveness of the methods debated, and the well-being of the community if any of these methods are enacted into plan.

I don't want it to get like a 4Chan or OT or PS. But then again, i don't really think with this minimal advertisement that we will get such a big crowd. If we get to 30 ACTIVE members at that, then we will take appropriate action. All these methods can be refuted. Except for the Google link one. o_o

This site has been Active google linked since it was created. I think their is a option to change that but i will have to sift around in the Administrative panel stuff to check. So i don think those ads and cookies will bother us if they haven't bothered us yet.

Wait... How would the mods react on Kong?

I know most of the OT forum mods, or more i am decent friends with the most active one, who doesn't mind bronies. I don't think he will mind. It will be Zshadow who will be informed by either a troll or whatever. He is iffy, but i think we are fine

When i was referencing i knew the Active Forum mod, that means Alex. MadJedi appears here and there, but if we can get Alex to agree, then MadJedi may follow, since their homeboys.

I'm for the Kong Thread. But, to help minimize the "page creator trolling" we could use the MLPwny account (totally not a slapped up excuse to use that account. XD).
Also, I expect that if the thread was made in OT, that we'd get a lot of trolls from it. But at least we have IP perma ban abilities here. Of which only the really annoying trolls can get around.

But, just for the sake of ideas. Does anypony else have an idea as to where we can advertise?

Sorry, I was thinking of another Derpy site's name when I typed that. I was talking about the one you mentioned.

And while Kong is preferred at the moment, that doesn't mean that we should rule out other locations.
